Company History

The Marg K Company Story

Marg has always loved fashion and has prided herself on looking feminine and well-presented. She understands how good a woman feels in a flattering and well made outfit. For many years, Marg felt there was a gap in the Brisbane fashion market for clothes that were stylish and a bit different (not the same thing that everybody else is wearing).

The concept of Marg K was started by Marg and her friend sharing a bottle of wine and building on Marg's management experience, and her friend's background in fashion. Marg purchased the first Marg K shop in Clayfield in 2006, then within two months bought the Kenmore shop and 12 months later purchased two boutiques (formerly Timbuctoo) in Paddington and Bulimba. Marg soon opened shops at Milton and Ascot and the latest store is now open in Portside Wharf.

Marg travels to Europe twice a year to bring back labels that are exclusive to Marg K. German labels are designed for women who have a fuller figure, which many Australian women want. All of Marg's clothes are of the highest quality – beautiful, stylish garments that look good on women aged 35 to 75 and sizes range from 8 to 18.

In addition to Marg K Boutiques, Margaret Kurzok is on the Board of The Queensland Breast Cancer Association, a Business Ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and Mentor for QUT's Fostering Executive Women Program. Having overcome many challenges in her own life, she recognises the value in supporting others. She is an inspirational and determined woman and welcomes you to visit her stores or give her a call at any time.
